Information Technology (IT) Manager

Job description

We’re seeking an experienced IT Manager with the latest technological skills to make us even more efficient. This person will analyze current systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, and provide training. The ideal candidate has deep IT industry knowledge, experience as a supervisor or manager, and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge. The IT Manager will immediately impact the day-to-day efficiency of our operations and have a long-term effect on our overall growth.  It is a growth position towards a CTO.

Objectives of this role

  • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
  • Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative.
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
  • Track and maintain hardware and software inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions.
  • Make sure system components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full capabilities, stay informed about new features and competitor solutions, and provide input to management.
  • Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement.
  • Prepare cost-benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best possible service and value for business needs.
  • Train staff and Interns on systems use, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support
  • Execute disaster planning and maintain data backups.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Four or more years of experience in IT management, including DevOPs
  • Ability to assess and recruit top candidates, train new IT staff and Interns, and supervise and motivate team members for high performance.
  • Ability to identify software needs.
  • Knowledge of architecture processes and performance reports of operating systems.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Skills to understand and oversee code development – both software and mobile.

Deep knowledge of the following.

1. Programming languages such as PHP, CMS, WordPress is required, and operating systems (ex: Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory), current equipment and technologies,

2. Enterprise backup and recovery procedures and systems performance monitoring

3. Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions

4. Strong creative and analytical thinking

5. Fundamentals of Cyber Security

6. Systems and networks.

7. Data analysis, DevOps, Cloud computing, Machine learning.

Preferred Education Background

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science.
  • Professional certification
